Well, The CrossFit Open 2017 has come to an end. What a bittersweet day it is. The events that we've all witnessed unfold in these last few weeks have absolutely blown my mind and filled my heart. From Thursday night release parties, and the amazing things that tend to happen shortly after-- to the last athlete on Monday night, down to the wire working their ass off, trying to beat their last score. You have all not only impressed us, but have hopefully impressed yourselves. If the pride you feel for yourself...your team...your box, is anything like the pride we have in you, then I can't wait to see what happens this year.

 

Since last year's Open, it's so painfully (emphasis on pain) obvious how much we as a box have grown. Physically and mentally. We all know the Open is famous for providing that extra boost some need to achieve the seemingly impossible, but to witness it first hand was incredible. The intensity in which every single athlete attacked each workout and the mental toughness they showed is something I can't wait to see extend into our daily workouts in the next year. To those of you who for the first time, pushed yourselves to another level, embraced the pain and reaped the rewards... We noticed. And thank you. Thank you for believing in yourself and believing in what we do here enough to fight for it. 

 

As we welcome in another year of grueling training with open arms, my hope is that as a gym we will continue to cultivate this atmosphere of mental toughness and intensity that we've so luckily witnessed these last five weeks.
